Traveling to the Pyrenees is cheap and easy these days !

There are four main airports serving the French Pyrenees and these routes are operated by Ryanair and Easyjet as well as British Airways and Air France.

1). Pau Pyrenees
This is the closest airport to our base in the Pyrenees and Ryanair operate a year round daily schedule here from London Stansted. Fares can be tiny (we have booked for less than 5 pence!) but to be sure of cheap fares you really need to book months in advance. Our base in the Pyrenees is about 1 hour and 20 mins away.

2). Biarritz
The second closest airport to our base in the Pyrenees is Biarritz and Ryanair operate a year round daily schedule there from London Stansted. 3). Toulouse

Toulouse is a major international airport and is served by Easyjet, BA and Airfrance. Cheapest fares are usually with Easyjet but often BA and Air France have competitive fares as well.
Transfer from Toulouse to the Luz or Bareges area of the Pyrenees take about 3 hours

4). Carcassonne
The fourth airport is Carcassonne - a little over four hours away.Ryanair operate a year round daily schedule there from London Stansted. Fares can be tiny (we have booked for less than 5 pence!) but to be sure of cheap fares you really need to book months in advance. Our base in the Pyrenees is about 4 hour and 15 mins away.

By Train
The high speed Eurostar is up and running from London Waterloo to Paris. You can change in Paris to and overnight or daytime TGV (Train Grand Vitesse!) direct to Lourdes SNCF station from where we always collect clients free of charge. Total journey time is about 12 hours from London -fares start at about £130 return depending on availability. Email our UK Office for details >

Fly Drive

The Pyrenees by Car
Driving across France or Spain to the Pyrenees is a great way to arrive.. you see the Pyrenees from about 100 miles away !

1). Ferry to Bilbao in Spain
The shortest drive time is from Bilbao in Spain. The ferry crossing takes about 26 hours from Portsmouth and is a great way to unwind. the crossing is not cheap though - especially in the summer high season and you need to book early to be sure of getting a cabin. 2). Ferry to Caen in Normandy
You can catch either and overnight or daytime ferry from Portsmouth to Caen in Normandy. The Pyrenees are a nine hour drive away. If you use the auto routes and drive without stopping much you can do this in one long day... but it is much more fun to explore a bit on the way and take your time..maybe over two or three days if you have the time.

1). Ferry to Calais
From Calais you need to allow for a 12 hour drive across central France. To get the most out of this you do need to allow a few days travel time. Email our UK Office for fares and availability.
