The
Pyrenees by Car
Driving across France or Spain to the Pyrenees is a great way to
arrive.. you see the Pyrenees from about 100 miles away !
1).
Ferry to Bilbao in Spain
The shortest drive time is from Bilbao in Spain. The ferry
crossing takes about 26 hours from Portsmouth and is a great way
to unwind. the crossing is not cheap though - especially in the
summer high season and you need to book early to be sure of getting
a cabin. Call up our UK Office for booking help. Tel: 01635 297209
2).
Ferry to Caen in Normandy
You can catch either and overnight or daytime ferry from
Portsmouth to Caen in Normandy. The Pyrenees are a nine hour drive
away. If you use the auto routes and drive without stopping much
you can do this in one long day... but it is much more fun to explore
a bit on the way and take your time..maybe over two or three days
if you have the time.
1).
Ferry to Calais
From Calais you need to allow for a 12 hour drive across
central France. To get the most out of this you do need to allow
a few days travel time. Email our UK
Office for fares and availability. |
