For those who prefer to self cater we offer a choice of apartments. We choose our properties carefully and only offer accommodation that we would be happy to stay in ourselves. We make sure that the property can comfortably accommodate the recommended number of people, that it is well equipped and has an interesting character, preferably with great mountain views. We are not restricted to filling the same properties each week. This means that we can offer different flats and houses from one week to another depending on demand. If you would like to self cater, please ring us with the details of your group. We need to know how many people you are, how many couples, singles and children there are and what kind of property you would like to rent. We will check which properties are available for the period in which you want to come and describe these you in detail by phone or email.

The Helios Studio
Residence Helios is a very grand historic building. Built as a hotel by the Rothschilds at the turn of the century, it has now been converted into a series of good quality apartments and studios. There is a Barèges Ski-Bus stop outside the apartments which you can use to get up to Super-Barèges, one of the highest skiing areas.

The Helios Studio is on the second floor of the building and has impressive views down the valley to the mountains above Luz St. Sauveur and Gavarnie. There is a high ceiling in the sitting room area which, together with the two large windows, give it a clean, airy feel. It is fitted with pine wood floors.

The Jackpot Apartment
Apartment Jackpot is a relatively new conversion inside a 200 year old Napoleonic building in the centre of Barèges. It is on the first floor and is close to the main shops, post office and the thermes. In good snow conditions you can ski to within 200 yards of the apartment at the end of the day. There is also a Ski-bus stop just outside the apartment.

Visitors who have stayed at Jackpot have remarked on its cosy atmosphere. The apartment has a long balcony at the side of the main lounge area. Because the building is tucked into the edge of the mountain, it has a nice private feel at the back (the sitting room side) while it looks out over the main street towards the Fleurie mountains from the bedrooms. It is simply furnished, well equipped and very popular.

Couratge Apartment
The Couratge apartment occupies the whole of the first floor of a newly built detached house. Couratge makes a great base for a group of friends or a large family. Everyone who has stayed has commented on how much they like the large airy feel that the apartment has. There is a Barèges Ski-Bus stop 400 metres away so you can use the free service to get to the slopes and then ski back to the village at the end of the day.

The Couratge is a spacious apartment with two big windows letting in lots of light. The large main living area is divided between a kitchen/dining room and a comfortable TV area. The room leads through double French doors to a small but well placed balcony. There are fantastic views from the balcony over the mountains to the south and west to Pic Ardiden and Pic Viscos.

Michelle's Chalet
Characterful large old house with dining room and open fire. Three double bedroon, 1 triple bedroon, a twin room plus interconnecting two bed flat with it's own kitchen and bathroom as well (3 bathrooms in all).

Balaguère House
The Balaguère is enormous! This is an original Barèges town house and it retains many of its original features. It is right in the centre of the village opposite the tourist office. There is a ski-bus stop opposite the house and the supermarket is only 100 metres up the street.

It is easy to get lost inside the Balaguère. There are so many rooms and corridors that it takes a while to get used to the complex layout of the building. There are two bathrooms with W.C.s and a separate shower room with another W.C. It has a big kitchen area with plenty of space around a large dining table. Three balconies have great views over the south facing Fleurie mountains and a fourth balcony looks over the main street. The accommodation is split over three floors and there is plenty of storage space. The Balaguère is a good fun, characterful base for large groups of friends, school groups or two or three families who want to spend their holiday together.
