About us - holidays in the Pyrenees and beyond
Pyrenean Mountain Tours (PMT) is a small company that was set up by two friends who were captivated by the grandeur of the mountains and the quality of the skiing when they first visited Barèges on a Pyrenees holiday just over ten years ago.

Since then we have explored further afield in the Pyrenees chain and elsewhere, building up the small team of professionals who organise the holidays you’ll discover on this website. Today, we offer mountain holidays throughout Europe and beyond, with skiing of all kinds, snowshoeing, hiking, mountaineering, touring and all kinds of mountain-related activities.

You choose when to go and how to go
There are no fixed departure dates and no minimum stays on a Pyrenean Mountain Tours holiday. You can fly, drive or travel by train and you can swap between skiing and snowboarding as you like. You don’t have to buy our holiday insurance and you won’t get "repped" into excursions once you arrive in the resort. We plan each of our holidays to suit the needs of individual customers - summer and winter.

Value for money
Our holidays are designed to make maximum use of falling international travel costs. The Pyrenees are served by a number of the new ‘internet airlines’, which offer fares from as little as £9.50 return if you book your holiday well in advance. We will help you find the most economical flights and book your seats for you if you do not have an internet connection. For those with more time, rail, ferry and car travel are a relaxing way to start your holiday.

Family reductions
Once in the resort itself, our holidays are good value too. There are reductions for families with children under 16 and for people over 60 on ski hire, ski passes and ski lessons. We offer discounts on hotel accommodation for younger children and our apartments are sensibly priced to accommodate your group or family comfortably without a crush.

A small, dedicated team of staff
We are not a big company and we select our staff with great care. Their job is to make sure that your trip runs as smoothly as possible. Our people in the UK will help you design the most appropriate travel itinerary, as well as find an apartment, B&B or hotel that meets your specific needs. They'll advise on equipment and travel, and if they don't have the answer they will put you in touch with somebody who does. At the destination
We employ our own resort managers and minibus drivers. We also link up with British Association of Snowsports (BASI) Instructors - two of our staff have BASI qualifications - as well as local French ski schools. We work closely with the owners of hotels and apartments too. And we have our own team of UIAGM mountain guides - many of whom have worked with us for more than 10 years. We also work with local French mountain leaders during the summer months.
